Chief John Fisher would like to invite the community to share coffee and conversations with Bedford Police, and to participate in a program aimed at educating the public on the dangers of fraud and scams.
WHEN:
Monday, Feb. 12, at 10:30 a.m.
WHERE:
Bedford Council on Aging, 12 Mudge Way, Bedford, MA
WHAT:
The Bedford Police Department will host Coffee with a Cop, an opportunity for community members to converse with Bedford Police over coffee, while the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office presents their Law Enforcement And Residents Networking (LEARN) Initiative to those in attendance.
The LEARN Initiative aims to educate members of the public about the dangers of fraud and scams, and how to spot them. The initiative includes a formal presentation on fraud and scams followed by a question and answer session.
“I would like to invite anyone from our community, especially those who are elders or family members or caregivers of elders, to attend this event to get to know our officers while also learning about the hazards of fraud and scams, which often target seniors,” said Chief Fisher. “The LEARN initiative is an excellent opportunity to learn about scams and fraud, and we are grateful to the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office for providing this presentation.”
To sign up for the event, please call the Bedford Council on Aging at 781-275-6825.
