Chief Robert Bongiorno is pleased to share that the Bedford Police Department, in collaboration with the Arlington, Belmont and Billerica police departments, hosted over 20 prospective police officers for a civil service exam preparation session on Saturday at Middlesex Community College.
Approximately two dozen prospective police officers attended the session led by Justin Hanrahan of Hanrahan Consulting LLC, who provided preparatory advice and tips for taking the 2022 Massachusetts Municipal Police Officer Entry Level Exam through Civil Service.
Hanrahan, a Massachusetts licensed attorney and a police manager with more than 25 years of law enforcement experience, discussed strategies for taking the test, sample test questions and an overview of the interview and hiring process for police officers.
Following a roughly 2-hour session with Hanrahan, participants were able to meet face-to-face with officers and commanders from the Arlington, Bedford, Belmont and Billerica Police Departments.
Lt. Scott Jones and Lt. Richard Vitale were on hand for Bedford Police, and spoke with several interested candidates who have already registered to take the Civil Service examination.
“I want to thank all those who attended for their interest in law enforcement careers, and to thank Justin Hanrahan and our law enforcement partners for working with us to help prepare candidates for this challenging but rewarding line of work,” said Chief Bongiorno.
